There Are These Little Moments

A friend of mine once told me that her mother-in-law felt like she could write a book on parenting after her first three children. I can kind of relate to that - EXCEPT that I know our kids are fabulous to begin with. Any impact we have on them is minimal - they're just, plain old good people!

FOR EXAMPLE, we were at a church picnic yesterday. Lo and behold, out comes the water balloons for a Water Balloon Toss. Let's see ... giant cooler of water balloons and tons of sugared up, excited kids means giant water balloon fight. Right?! As I looked upon the other kids running and screaming, pelting one another with their water bombs I noticed our children were missing. Scanning the park, I saw Abby and Noah - off to the side of the ruckus - gently tossing a water balloon to one another.
I wasn't there, hovering over them yelling caution and threats about getting wet. I actually didn't care if they pelted balloons at one another or not. They decided on their own to play a little game. Really, are they for real?! I'm so proud of those two for being brilliant, wonderful children. They really are a joy to both Tracy and me.

awww thats cute!! They are best friends and that is something to be thankful for. Me and my brothers were mean to each other. We are best buds now. But that is sweet
