Acceptance

There is one member of our family who has not received much "blog" time. That would be Dottie, our faithful Dalmatian. She, perhaps, has taken Lillian's arrival the hardest. It is she who is shooed from the bed, couch, room, etc. It is she who is told to, "HUSH!" when she lets her needs be known. It is she who has dropped considerable weight with the end of her exercise regimen (wish I could say the same).

Poor, poor Dottie.

It's no wonder that for months Dottie has completely ignored Lily's existence. She simply has pretended not to notice her altogether or to sniff her with an air of disgust. Until recently. Dottie showed Lily complete love today by doing to her what she does to us all - sitting on her. Yes, Dottie walked dangerously close to Lily's little hands, circled her spot, and plopped the tiniest bit of her bottom down upon our little baby. Most mothers would be horrified. Not me! I saw it as the final sign of family unity. Two seconds later, Dottie shifted herself into this position:

Looks like a happy canine to me!

I love our children!
