Let Them Eat Cake

I absolutely, positely love cake! Give me any variety! Any occassion! I love cake!

Last week I was bit by the baking bug, but didn't have the time or energy to get any baking done. I did, however, scour the internet looking for delicious recipes to try once my time and energy were restored. I chose "Died and Gone to Heaven Chocolate Cake" and "Buttermilk Carrot Cake".

Sunday blessed me! I was able to bake my edible babies. OH ... MY ... GOSH! This Buttermilk Carrot Cake, which ended up being Buttermilk Sweet Potato Cake is so good. I can't believe I made it! I would rave if I had this at a restaurant. I am very proud! The Died and Gone to Heaven Chocolate Cake was very good as well. I even made my favorite chocolate frosting that takes longer to make than the cake, but it is sooooooo worth it!

This is why I love baking - well, cooking in general. Being a Dallas native, I've eaten out A LOT. It's just about all there is to do in Dallas. When I make something I deem as restaurant worthy, it makes me very, very happy.
