Writer's Log: Day 4

Date: February 4, 2011
Time: 11:31 p.m.
Today was our 4th day shut in our home. We woke to Six inches of snow covering - everything in sight. The children have acclamated well. Bickering was non-existant, which was a relief. The Three year old seems to be holding up quite well; however, she is unable to understand why (oh WHY?!) she can't go play on her playground. Poor thing! Noah made her day better by supplying her with as much Hot Chocolate as she could consume.
Abby & Noah set out to play in the slow this afternoon. They were very disappointed in their inability to make a snowman. It's just too powdery out there! After twenty minutes, both children wandered inside - covered with snow and shivering. It's a better day to appreciate the fluffy whiteness from inside than to trek outside! After four days of no school, I have gotten used to a little gem called "the nap". It's making my days much more enjoyable. No wonder Lily looks forward to hers every afternoon! Tomorrow promises higher temperatures. Let's hope the sun brings liberation for us all!! If not, I'm ordering The Shining from Amazon (and taking notes on what NOT to do!).
