Like Mother, Like Daughter or It's "Mental" ist/ish

Abby & I have a new favorite past time. We enjoy watching The Mentalist together. Such a sweet moment, mother & daughter comfortably stationed on the sofa enjoying the witty banter, quick minded logic, and crime solving skills of Patrick Jane (even his name is cool - since he's called "Jane" and anyone who knows me knows I'm partial to a man with a "girl" name).

Beside his cool name, what else is there to love about The Mentalist? Abby & I were discussing this just the other day. We decided there are characteristics the perfect man should have. Keep in mind, this is the PERFECT MAN. Surely no man could possess each one of these qualities. Here they are:
  1. He can rock glasses. If a man can take a weakness, like astigmatism, and make it sexy - awesome!

  2. He enjoys the simple pleasures in life. Jane loves a cup of tea. One of my favorite lines from the show was when he described a cup of tea as "a hug in a cup". Lovely!

  3. He knows how to dress. What looks better than a well-dressed man?! Admittedly, his character goes for the refined, yet rugged kind of look. It is nice. I especially like his vests.

  4. He has great hair. And does he have great hair or what?!
  5. He has a warm smile. If someone is smiling at you, you want it to be warm, right?!
  6. He smells good. We can't actually smell this guy, but he has to smell good - look at him!! I just imagine he's wearing something deadly like Ralph Lauren Purple Label or Creed Millesime Imperial.

While Abby & I were going down our lists of attractive attributes, she says, "Mom, he has to be funny and really nice - and really smart. You know, like Castle."

Our other television heart throb! Thank you t.v. writers for giving my daughter an admirable, albeit fictional, standard to adhere to when looking for a suitable guy. She is absolutely awesome and deserves nothing shy of the best.

Hopefully, such a man really will exist for her!! But, seriously, who could live up to these standards?! Witty? Smart? Funny? Handsome? Great Hair? Well dressed? Smells great? Refined? Great smile?

The last man I knew of who was anything like this is Cary Grant or as I call him "The Perfect Man". (btw - love what he's wearing here. Why can't men dress this well anymore?!)
