Tuesday afternoon I went to Abby's school to pick up her schedule for the upcoming school year. I noticed something ... 8th grade girls look like teenage girls.
I'm a little slow. Make-up & boys were second nature to me. I was the youngest girl of seven after all. I can't remember a time make-up, hair products, and devices weren't readily available to me. But Abby - well, she's the OLDEST. Until two years ago, she was the only girl. She has hated "dressy" clothes, bathing, & anything "girly" as long as I can remember. Imagine my surprise when she jumped at the chance for a make-over.
After observing other 8th grade girls in their daisy dukes and full make-up, I asked Abby, "Hey, have you thought about wearing make-up?" Before I had a chance to brace myself for an answer, she emphatically said, "YES!"
So here we are. I did her make-up (at her request) and she beamed. I think she looks gorgeous ... a little too gorgeous if you ask her Dad!

OH my word! She looks great. I'm still picturing the girl that was so mad when you made her dress up for family pics. She's getting so grown up.
